Have you taught your students about the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, which in Hawaii is known as the honu? The resource included here is a vocabulary assessment in relation to the study of the honu.

Humpback Whale/Mammal Venn Diagram
Feel free to use this free printable Venn Diagram, or project it on to your board. You can also upload it to a PowerPoint presentation and share it with your students. This would work great for a flipped classroom or virtual classroom setting. There is a blank space for your students to add an animal of their choice to compare to the humpback whale.

Lesson Ideas for the Winter Months
Aloha,
During the winter months my students learn a great deal about humpback whales. Whale watching and recording their behaviors as seen from shore are a true highlight of the season for me, and I love to share my knowledge and experience with others. During the winter, I can't count on snow, or chilly days and a warm fireplace...but I can count on the exciting humpback whale migration that takes place each year between October and March. Please visit often for lesson ideas and resources that will save you time.
